The 1st Smithtown Historical Society
Civil War Program

Smithtown, NY

May 14 - 15, 2004

This year marked the very first Civil War Educational program held at the Smithtown Historical Society. Virtually every Civil War group on Long Island participated including the 119th NY, the 10th NY Cavalry, and all three Confederate regiments (the 9th, 30th, and 57th Virginia). On Friday, we taught 1,200 school kids in six hours. The event extended into Sunday for the general public.
