Lewis M. Peck


Lewis Mead Peck was born in Greenwich, CT on September 10, 1832. At the age of twenty-nine, he enlisted with the 67th New York, 1st Long Island Volunteers at New York City. On June 24th, he was commissioned as Captain of Company K and served until he was promoted into the 173rd New York Infantry as Lieutenant Colonel on October 30, 1862.

Lt. Colonel Peck was made full Colonel of the 173rd NY on March 15, 1863 and was made Brigadier General and Major General by Brevet on March 13, 1865 before his final Mustering Out on October 18th the same year.

Lewis Peck died in Brooklyn, NY on February 3, 1919.
