6th Annual Civil War Christmas
at St. John's Episcopal Church

Oakdale, NY

December 9, 2023

We'll never have weather this good again... sunny skies and temps in the 50s! The fine clime turned out big crowds this year and the 67th NY fielded a large contingent to add to the 19th century feel for the event. The usual musical acts came in to perfom in this Colonial era church including the Victorian Carolers by the BAFA (Bay Area Friends of Fine Arts). We had hot cider on tap and were visited for the first time by members of the 30th Virginia (Miss Diane even won the Victorian Dessert Contest). As per custom, Chaplain George Munkenbeck ended the day with his Civil War era Christmas ceremony. Kudos to the Oakdale Historical Society for organizing the event.
