The Oakdale Historical Society, Friends of Connetquot River State Park Preserve, and the the Islip Arts Council presented an Old Tyme Christmas Event - A Civil War Christmas at St. John's Church in Oakdale, Long Island, one of the oldest surviving churches dating back to 1765. Several members from the 67th NY assisted Islip Town Historian, George Munkenbeck, with the affair that included period music, graveyard tours, and a period service is this historic church.
