150th Anniversary
The Battle of Gettysburg

Gettysburg, PA

July 5 - 7, 2013

July 7th

Day Three and no relief at hand from the scorching temperatures. Fortunately, we had plenty of time to prepare for the climax of this historic re-enactment of Pickett's Charge. We broke down our camp and had a surprise 60th birthday party of sorts for our First Sergeant. Before the march out, we were given the option of leaving off our sack coats due to the heat. Ironically and almost fittingly, as the spectacle of Pickett's Charge unfolded before our very eyes from Cemetery Ridge, thousands upon thousands of Confederates heading towards their fates... the skies turned from sunny, to cloudy, to outright threatening and no sooner had the last musket discharged did the skies unleash their fury of rain upon our heads. A rather dramatic ending to an anniversary that we will never forget.
