1st Annual Civil War Weekend
at the Grange

Sayville, NY

September 12 - 13, 2009

An Historic Weekend... Long overdue and with full backing & encouragement from the Town of Islip, Company K hosted its first ever event at our homebase of the Grange. We received a lot of help from our friends in the local Civil War community including the 9th Virginia, the 30th Virginia, and the 10th New York Cavalry. The Old Bethpage Brass Band played period music in our gazebo while Larry Moser and Mary Nagin performed in our chapel. We even had our own Sutler in the form of FMD Sutlery. And on Saturday evening when the rain was coming down, Rob Finnegan from the Town of Islip guided an intrepid audience of two dozen on a candlelight tour through our camps. While the weather wasn't very cooperative, the street battles on both days went splendidly and morale was very high. Plus we drew a good sized crowd on this first venture! We're all looking forward to outdoing ourselves in the next season...
